African entrepreneurs are in for an exciting summer! From the World Economic Forum on Africa, to NextGen and the Afric’Up Pitch Challenge, we’ve listed three great startup opportunities for entrepreneurs to network, learn and expand their businesses this season.

1. World Economic Forum on Africa 2019
WEF is inviting a number of Start-ups to join the Start-ups Programme on their Africa Meeting
This year, the programme of the African based Forum scheduled from September 4 to 6, 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa, aims to tackle the main geopolitical, climate change and county financial issues altering Africa’s self-empowerment and development by focusing on how to scale up the transformation of regional architecture related to institutions, infrastructure, integration, industrialization and innovation. Under the theme: “Shaping Inclusive Growth and Shared Futures in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”

2. Afric’Up Pitch Challenge
The Afric’Up Pitch aims to unleash African entrepreneurial potential while highlighting the most innovative entrepreneurs and startups in Africa, while creating markets for those in seed stage.
Selected startups will have the opportunity to meet investors, multinational executives, financial institutions, experts, incubators, government officials, policymakers from the African continent and internationally.
The competition is open to entrepreneurs of African nationality, including Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Egypt, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Nigeria, Mauritania, Benin, Congo, Togo, Rwanda, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Djibouti, Ethiopia.
Selected startup will get an all-expenses trip covered to the finals, plus one Startup pass.

3. AFG
Starting in January 2020, AFG will be launching the NextGen Business Analyst Program. They are building a community of 350 young and talented African future business leaders by 2024. Their first cohort will be 10 candidates from across Africa.
The 18-months training program includes 2 months of full-time training at AFG, Ghana to develop candidates’ basic professional toolkit, such as problem-solving, data and financial analysis and communication. The training is followed by a 16-months placement in companies across Africa, for candidates to gain hands-on experience as future business leaders.
